Additional Bridle Trail Closures Near the South Coast Botanic Garden

The Seahorse Trail, adjacent to Rolling Hills Estates City Hall, will be closed until approximately this Monday, May 4, so crews can conduct finishing work. Work will take place over the weekend from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Please note that while the trail is expected to reopen this Monday, there will continue to be work in the adjacent Pepperwood Park, so we recommend avoiding the area due to noise that could startle a horse.

Starting as early as Monday, May 4, crews will conduct electrical work for the installed drinking water pipeline in the Botanic Garden Trail. This trail closure now extends from Rolling Hills Road to Moccasin Trail. Work will take place from Monday to Friday, between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. for approximately two weeks. For the safety of equestrians and residents, the updated measures below will be in place for the duration of work:

  • A temporary closure of the Botanic Garden Trail, from Rolling Hills Road to Moccasin Trail, including the tunnel under Crenshaw Boulevard
  • A temporary closure of the School Trail, from Palos Verdes Drive North to the Botanic Garden Trail
  • Temporary detours around the work area starting at Rolling Hills Road and Moccasin Trail

Residents whose horses are located along the Botanic Garden Trail will continue to have access to Palos Verdes Drive North. As a reminder, all trails will be reopened once work is complete. An updated map illustrating the trail closures can be found below.

We apologize for the additional trail closures and appreciate your patience as work continues. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at PVPWaterProject@calwater.com.
