There is ongoing landscape and irrigation system restoration work taking place on Montecillo Drive, between Palos Verdes Drive North and Encanto Drive. We are working closely with the Montecillo Homeowners’ Association to coordinate all necessary details.
Nightwork continues in the parking lot of the Rolling Hills United Methodist Church, along the Botanic Garden property near Crenshaw Boulevard. Work will occur from Monday to Friday, between 7:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Portions of the Botanic Garden Trail are being used to help stage pipeline as construction continues in this area. During non-work hours, the parking lot will be open to the public.
As part of preparatory work, crews have been conducting utility line relocation in the Botanic Garden Trail, near Lariat Lane, from Monday to Friday, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Last week, crews encountered a conflict with an unknown, existing utility line in a portion of the trail and are making necessary adjustments to continue the relocation process as quickly and safely as possible. While work continues, the Botanic Garden Trail will remain closed to pedestrians and riders. Riders are encouraged to avoid the work area due to construction-related noise that may startle a horse.
A reminder that the Dapplegray Elementary School access road and Palomino Ranchos Bridle Trail, between the Rolling Hills Little League ballfield and Rolling Hills Road, remain closed to the public. Parents will be able to use the access road leading to the ballfield for practices on weekdays starting at 3:30 p.m. For a map of current and ongoing trail closures and detours, visit our equestrian page.
Work is ongoing at the new pump station site on Crenshaw Boulevard, which is expected to be complete by late 2019. Crews have been preparing for major construction, which includes clearing the area and drilling for retaining walls, among other preparatory work. Traffic control will be implemented during work hours, from Monday to Friday, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., to allow for larger vehicles or to facilitate the safe entry and exit of crews onto Crenshaw Boulevard. There will be at least one lane of traffic open in both directions at all times.
