Construction Update: 2/6/19

February 06, 2019

Despite last week’s rain delays, crews are continuing to clean and grout pipes on Palos Verdes Drive North, from Palos Verdes Drive East to Montecillo Drive, and on Montecillo Drive, from Palos Verdes Drive North to Encanto Drive. Work is expected to take place from Monday to Friday, between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. or 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. There will be at least one lane of traffic open in each direction at all times.

Landscape and irrigation system restoration is ongoing on Montecillo Drive, between Palos Verdes Drive North and Encanto Drive. We are working closely with the Montecillo Homeowners’ Association to coordinate all necessary details.

A reminder that the Dapplegray Elementary School access road and Palomino Ranchos Bridle Trail, between the Rolling Hills Little League ballfield and Rolling Hills Road, remain closed to the public during this time. Parents will be able to use the access road leading to the ballfield for practices starting at 3:30 p.m. on weekdays. For a map of ongoing trail closures and detours, visit our equestrian page.

Nightwork continues in the parking lot of the Rolling Hills United Methodist Church, along the Botanic Garden property near Crenshaw Boulevard. Pipeline installation is ongoing from Monday to Friday, between 7:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Pieces of pipe are currently being staged on the Botanic Garden Trail to help facilitate this work. The parking lot will be open to the public during non-work hours.

Work continues in the Botanic Garden Trail, between Rolling Hills Road and Crenshaw Boulevard, from Monday to Friday, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Crews are currently working to relocate an existing utility line before pipeline installation can take place. The Botanic Garden Trail will remain closed to pedestrians and riders until approximately spring 2019. Riders are encouraged to avoid the work area due to construction-related noise that may startle a horse.

Preparatory work continues at the site of the new pump station on Crenshaw Boulevard, which is expected to be complete by late 2019. Residents should expect to see crews clearing the area and conducting other preparatory work to allow for construction. Traffic control will be implemented periodically and on an as-needed basis to allow for large deliveries or facilitate safe entry and exit from the pump station site.

For the latest timeline information, please refer to the updated timeline on our Map & Timeline page. Please note that the construction dates provided are estimates, not exact deadlines, and the actual duration of night work may change based on a number of factors, including weather and unknowable field circumstances.
