Construction Update: 3/20/19

March 20, 2019

Project work is in its ninth month and more than 18,000 feet of new drinking water pipeline have been installed so far. Last week, crews paved portions of Palos Verdes Drive North and Montecillo Drive to allow for a smoother, more even drive for residents and commuters. THANK YOU for your patience and understanding while we worked to finish paving!

This week, crews will be grouting the inside of the new pipeline along Palos Verdes Drive North. Work will take place at night between Dapplegray Elementary School and Palos Verdes Drive East from Monday to Friday, 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Grouting work will also take place during the day from Palos Verdes Drive East to Montecillo Drive, and on Montecillo Drive, from Palos Verdes Drive North to Encanto Drive between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. or 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. There will be at least one lane of traffic open in each direction at all times.

Pipeline installation is underway in the Botanic Garden Trail, between Lariat Lane and Crenshaw Boulevard, from Monday to Friday, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. The Botanic Garden Trail will remain closed as work continues and we encourage riders to avoid the area due to construction-related noise that could startle a horse.

Crews are currently preparing to begin work on Rolling Hills Road (private road) and will begin staging pipeline along the road starting this week. Work will take place between Monday and Friday, from approximately 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. We are working closely with the City of Rolling Hills Estates and Rolling Hills Road residents to coordinate all necessary details.

Work is ongoing at the new pump station site on Crenshaw Boulevard, north of Silver Spur Road, from Monday to Friday, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Traffic control will be in place during work hours and there will be at least one lane of traffic open in each direction at all times.

Please note that the construction dates outlined in the timeline are estimates, rather than exact deadlines, and the duration of work may change based on several factors, such as inclement weather or unknowable field circumstances.
