Construction Update 6/5/2019

June 5, 2019

REMINDER: We kindly ask that you slow down while driving in construction zones and obey all traffic control signage and personnel.

Pipeline installation continues on Rolling Hills Road, between Rolling Hills Road (private road) and Lariat Lane. Construction will occur from Monday to Friday, between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. During work hours, flaggers will be stationed at both ends of the construction area to help facilitate alternating one-way traffic on Rolling Hills Road. Where possible, we strongly encourage you to use alternative roads while work is ongoing to avoid increased traffic delays.

Crews are conducting welding and restoration work along the Palomino Ranchos Bridle Trail, between Rolling Hills Road and the Rolling Hills Little League ballfield. This work will take place from Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The trail remains closed to the public during construction and we encourage riders to avoid the area due to construction-related noise that may startle a horse.

Work continues in the South Coast Botanic Garden property, between Crenshaw Boulevard and the end of Lariat Lane. Crews are installing pipeline from Monday to Friday, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. The Botanic Garden trail, from Blossom’s Trail to Rolling Hills Road, will remain closed for the safety of crews and equestrians during construction.

In preparation for pipeline installation, crews are removing and replacing an existing methane gas line in the Botanic Garden Trail, along Lariat Lane. This work will take place from Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is expected to last approximately two weeks. Flaggers will be onsite to help facilitate alternating one-way traffic on Lariat Lane and residents will have access to their homes at all times.

Work is ongoing at the new pump station site on Crenshaw Boulevard, north of Silver Spur Road. Work continues from Monday to Friday, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. At least one lane of traffic will be open in each direction at all times and traffic control will be in place during work hours.

Preparatory work for construction on Crenshaw Boulevard, between Crest Road and the new pump station site, is expected to begin the week of June 24. Once started, crews will be working from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. At least one lane of traffic will be open in each direction at all times and all lanes will be open during non-work hours.  Please anticipate increased traffic delays while this work occurs and we encourage you to use alternate routes, such as Hawthorne Boulevard, where possible. For more information about this work, please visit the Crenshaw Construction & Traffic Info page on the project website.

Please refer to our Map & Timeline page on the project website, for the latest construction information. As a reminder, all construction dates outlined in the timeline are estimates and the length of work could change based on a number of factors, such as inclement weather and unknowable field circumstances.
