COVID-19 Update: Project Construction Continues During Stay-at-Home Orders

As California Water Service (Cal Water) continues to monitor and assess the evolving developments surrounding COVID-19, we want to provide an update on the Palos Verdes Peninsula Water Reliability Project.

Following the guidance of local, state, and federal government authorities, water systems like ours are critical infrastructure needed to protect public health and safety, and construction will continue for the foreseeable future. Our top priority is to ensure the health and safety of our customers, crews, and partners. We are doing our part to mitigate the impact and spread of COVID-19 by following all appropriate safety protocols and taking several additional, precautionary steps to keep crews and communities safe during this time.

It is important to note that the drinking water supply serving Peninsula residents and businesses is safe from coronavirus (COVID-19), according to the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The safeguards we have always taken to protect water quality are effective to keep it safe from viruses, including COVID-19. More information can be found on Cal Water’s website.

For more information about COVID-19, we encourage you to visit the CDC’s website or the WHO’s website.

We will continue to monitor the developing COVID-19 situation and follow the guidance of local, state, and federal government authorities. We will keep you updated on any new developments impacting project construction.

We hope you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at pvpwaterproject@calwater.com.
