Crews will pave the Dapplegray Elementary School access road during the school’s spring break from approximately Tuesday March 31, to Friday April 3, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Residents will not be able to access the Rolling Hills Little League ballfield through the access road for the entire duration of work, including after work hours.
There will be heavy equipment operating from the entrance of Dapplegray Elementary School to the ballfield, so we encourage riders to avoid the area due to construction-related noise that could startle a horse. For the safety of residents, horses, and crews, there will be the following closures for the duration of work:
- The Bridle Trail along Palos Verdes Drive North, from Phillip’s Canyon Trail to Strawberry Trail, will be temporarily closed. There will be a detour available around the closure that includes Phillip’s Canyon Trail, John Howard Trail, Chandler Trail and Strawberry Trail.
- There will be periodic, temporary closures of the portion of the Palomino Ranchos Bridle Trail closest to the Rolling Hills Little League ballfield when paving takes place in the adjacent parking lot. During these closures, riders will be detoured up the John Howard Trail towards the Empty Saddle Club to travel to the private arena.
Please note that paving is contingent upon favorable weather conditions and timing could change. We apologize for the inconvenience but look forward to making the necessary improvements to the road.
Thank you for your patience.
