As you know, the contractors have been working on Palos Verdes Drive North and Montecillo Drive the last two days to get everything ready for street paving tomorrow. Both yesterday and today, work was scheduled to be completed – and the eastbound lanes of PV Drive North reopened – by 3:00 p.m. As you may have witnessed first-hand or heard through the grapevine, the contractors did not come close to that mark yesterday or today. For all of the inconvenience that was caused, we are truly sorry.
We still want to get the planned work on Palos Verdes Drive North and Montecillo Drive done, so we have directed the contractors to move forward with paving the roads tomorrow, Saturday, March 16. We also want to avoid giving you any unrealistic expectations; please plan on the work starting at 9:00 a.m. and lasting all day.
Just as a reminder, the work areas are on Palos Verdes Drive North, between Dapplegray Elementary School and Palos Verdes Drive East, and on Montecillo Drive, from Palos Verdes Drive North to Encanto Drive. Two crews will be working ALL DAY on Palos Verdes Drive North starting at 9 a.m.
During work hours, there will be an eastbound lane closure on Palos Verdes Drive North, from Rolling Hills Road to Palos Verdes Drive East, and a clearly marked detour for eastbound traffic beginning at Rolling Hills Road as well as Crenshaw Boulevard. The westbound lane of Palos Verdes Drive North will remain open at all times. Below is a graphic that outlines the detour. There will be workers stationed along Palos Verdes Drive North to help direct traffic and provide assistance.
Again, we are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience that we know some of you experienced the last two days. We have already started a thorough evaluation of what caused the problems and are committed to getting them fixed.
As always, thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
